Cats Fans
CONGRATULATIONS
You get to cast your own version of Cats to be filmed and turned into a movie!!! the only problem is you can't pick anyone from the 1998 movie, Unless it's for a different role then they were in the move then it's ok but is has to be a role they have once played in the past even if it was as a swing/cover (EX: Fergus Logan as Misto or Veerle Casteleyn as Victoria)
They can be from any production no matter the year or language used and you can pick actors from non-replicas too
Characters like Gus jr., George, and Exotica can be removed if you can't think of anyone but everyone else must stay and you can add other swings of you want and if need be you can change who plays the Rumpus cat and Macavity can have his own Actor if you want. and if you want a actor but they played the character under a different name (EX: Sillabub, Admetus, Carbuckety, Bill Bailly) they are allowed just keep the names from the 1998 movie
Your list of characters
Alonzo Asparagus Bombalurina Bustopher Johns Cassandra Coricopat Demeter Electra Etcetera Exotica George / Rumpus Cat Grizabella Gus Jr. Jellylorum Jemima Jennyanydots Mistoffelees Mungojerrie Munkustrap Old Deuteronomy Plato / Macavity Pouncival Rumpleteazer Rum Tum Tugger Skimbleshanks Tantomile Tumblebrutus Victoria
Have fun and reblog this to share your cast

Munkustrap being a dad and loving it. Look at him beaming as he tries to wrestle the kitten deluge under control! Victoria has called dibs on the Munkulegs and will fight anybody who tries to get close. Where did Bill Bailey go oh there he is, better grab hold of his scruff to keep him still, he's looking a bit excitable. Carbuckety, no, don't yoink the Jemimacat, Jemima leave some fur on the poor man's arm please. And bonus - because Jalonzo is looking very elegant and prim in that first gif, doing a bit of lounging and preening - Demelonzo tidying themselves and each other behind the annoying sticker that I cropped out of the kitten gif.
Tumblr media
2020 Asia tour: Rafe Watts as Munkustrap, Ella Nonini as Demeter, Jal Joshua as Alonzo, Caitlin New as Tantomile, Aaron Lynch as Coricopat, Taylor Scanlan as Carbuckety, Anina Pletscher as Jemima, Tyler Lotzof as Victoria, Kade Hughes as Bill Bailey, and Thomas Inge as Admetus. (X)
And when the kittens are unleashed....
Tumblr media
Must. Touch. Every. Baby.
The girls: Electra (Anina Pletscher) with blonde braids and a grey top, Victoria (Tyler Lotzof) beside her in a black top with a bun, and Jemima (Holly Willock) with a blonde ponytail and blue top.
All the boys seem to have decided on black today, but: Bill Bailey (Kade Hughes) is first to reach him then ducks behind his legs, almost missing out on a touch in his hurry; Carbuckety (Jal Joshua) with the long hair sits up and gets a nice head pat and scritch, and George (Taylor Scanlan) is last and has to wait his turn. And Mistoffelees (Xavier Pellin) pops in at the end with his back to the camera, presumably having disposed of Deuteronomy's mask and hoping for more pats himself.

which musical do you think is overrated?
what’s your favorite broadway star?
can you dance?
which musical do you think is overrated?
‘Phantom of the Opera’, to be completely honest. The music is not bad, and the singing abilities needed are impressive as hell, but I like the gothic horror style of the novel, and I didn't appreciate it being turned into a semi-romance plot. Also, this is stupid, but the fact that the "opera prodigy" is clearly singing showtunes messes with my suspension of disbelief (because in a show where a disfigured genious is living in a subterranean lake under the Paris Opera and blackmailing the owners into performing his music, that is what gets me. xD)
Also, the fact that I watched it for the first time (not counting the movie) right after I listened to Lindsay Ellis, self-proclaimed Phantom fangirl, bash Cats, probably didn't help. I spent the entire show thinking "this isn't better than Cats!!".
what’s your favorite broadway star?
I don’t know many....? I don’t really have access to Broadway, my relationship to musicals is mostly through movie musicals and a couple of recording of live performances. So unless I say someone like Julie Andrews...
Jal Joshua is probably not considered a “Broadway star”, but he’s absolutely adorable and I love him!!
can you dance?
It depends on your definition of “dancing”. I have a pretty impressive array of dances I’ve learned for a year or a couple of intensive courses or stuff like that, but I can’t do anything advanced in any of them.
So if you are talking what I technically know something about... I can dance west coast swing, blues, rock, swing, salsa, bachata, the Viennese waltz, tap, a bit of kizomba and a good amount of folk dances from around the world. Take that as you will.

22 Filipinos Who Sang Their Hearts Out In International Competitions
Did you know that two Filipinos (in a row!) have won The X Factor Australia?
Madonna Decena — Britain’s Got Talent, Season 2
Rank: Semi-finalist Defining performance: “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston
Even though she didn’t make it to the finals, Madonna moved the audience, not only with her Whitney rendition, but also through her story as a single mother who wanted to provide for her daughters back in Manila.

Then 11-year-old Jal migrated with his family to Australia in 2008. A year later, the Cebu native wowed the audience when he joined Australia’s Got Talent. He may have lost to opera singer Mark Vincent but that didn’t stop him from joining other talent contests like The X Factor Australia in 2014.

If you’re still not impressed, she just recently won another singing contest in Japan.

Farewell to the 2020 Asia tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, last night - 16 May 2021 - was meant to be the closing night of the Asia tour in Korea, before moving on to Taiwan (and bringing in a few new cast members to replace those who had chosen not to renew their contracts for Taiwain).
Instead, with about 24 hours' notice, it became a closing night for good.
Due, presumably, to the current COVID situation in Taiwan and its consequent border closures, the Taiwan leg has been cancelled: the 2020 Asia tour is now at an end.

I have excellent news for you about rehearsal fashions for the boys of the 2020 Asia tour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aaron Lynch (Coricopat) has a rainbow one!
Tumblr media
Taylor Scanlan (George) has a black one (and needs it because he has a glorious curly mane).
Tumblr media
Rafe Watts (Munkustrap) has one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hayden Baum (Skimbleshanks) has one!
Tumblr media
... and meanwhile, Jal Joshua (Carbuckety)..... a simple headband would just not cut it for them.
(Although, for a more in-costume effect, I do enjoy my luscious locks, cats in glasses and cats in clothes tags.)
I always thought Plato in CATS 1998 was wearing one of those little sporty headbands. and I was so obsessed with how outrageously cute it looked.
why would they give this cat a funky headband????? I didn't know; other cats had clothes so I didn't care. it's cute!! look at himb go!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...so you can imagine my absolute devastation when someone told me it was just the band of his wig.

Now, headcanons are free of course, and each to their own. And characterisation differs with every production. And also, I personally love some uncle Tugger / baby Jemima fluff.
But there's far less canon evidence for that than for Jemima has a great big horny crush on Tugger. And if anybody tries to tell you that you shouldn't see that in the text, I offer you:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holly Willock in rehearsals for the 2020 Asia tour, staring at Dan Partridge's swivelly hips.
Oh and here's Electra, with Alonzo smirking behind her (Anina Pletscher and Fletcher Dobinson).
Tumblr media
Also less lustful but cute anyway, the other boys: Jalbuckety, TaylorGeorge, Kadebailey (holding the headlight, so this is apparently Misto's song, not even Tugger's, and he's still a sexy sexy piece...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... and Rafe's Munkustrap, though he does refocus his attention quickly on Ella's Demeter. And Taylor mostly looks confused at why everyone's fixated on Tugger.
Also apparently I can recognise the backs of Dominique (Rumpelteazer), George (Mungojerrie), and Emily (Tantomile)'s heads, there in the foreground. I have weird skills.

Jalonzo has different priorities to Fletcher’s Alonzo. He doesn’t move immediately from one partner to another to maximise flirting time. He’s quite happy to show off (and elegantly flop) all by himself.
